Global Non-Profit Organization: Creating web presence for different state programmes of a Global NGO operating in India
Summary/Objectives:
One of the most visible Global Charity Organisation wanted to inform various stakeholders (HQ team in the US, Indian Government personnel, Indian media, Social Researchers across the globe) about various aspects of state level programmes in India – their objectives, measurement indicators, periodic data collected for each indicator and attractive & interactive web based tools to showcase the programmes impact.
Our Role:
- Created a Software Requirement Specification (SRS) document, capturing various needs of State Programme Leaders
- Developed and launched a Content Management System (CMS); trained the client’s team on how to manage content on the website, enabling them to alter information and rich media on the website without dependency on programmers or any other external intervention.
- Conceptualized, designed and developed a Robust GIS application showcasing district-level data, progress reports and heat maps for 100+ unique indicators. Again, enabling the client to easily manage large volumes of data represented on the Maps.
- Conceptualized, designed and developed animated graphs for key indicators that generate dynamically based on front-end user interaction.
- Implemented lightweight versions of all applications and enabled auto-detection of end-user network bandwidth to automatically load the version which would be best viewed over the end-user’s internet bandwidth.
Value to the Client:
- Self-managed website able to deliver programme information attractively to stake-holders across the board, in both high internet availability and low internet availability cities.
- Showcase programme impact to dedicated stakeholders as well as on the fly during unexpected opportunities
- The GIS application was awarded the best innovation in a reputed Asia-Pacific Health Technology conference.
